The New Testament concentrates on the gospel of Christ rather than the biographies of first century Christians. No doubt, Jesus had wealthy friends. It can be safely inferred that the Apostle Paul, Matthew, Luke, Philemon, Zacchaeus, and others were people of financial substance. It should be noted though, that many of Christ's disciples were martyred.
