Another good example of pressure group Politics. I think we just fell into this one. I had posted about that earlier. When the PBGC was created, there were only a couple of pension fund failures. It just mushroomed when companies started getting rid of their defined benefit pensions and when companies went go-go in the eighties and got into trouble. At that point, how could anyone pull the plug? So here we are. The good news is that there are so few defined benefit plans still out there that the problem will run its course soon. <g>
