Their local taxes are forgiven for 10-12yrs for the mammoth distribution centers. As a result, those same local employees usually find their taxbill has increased.

Yes, in some towns in New Jersey, the same thing is going on unfortunately. Give tax breaks for years and years to big business, and then the homeowners have to pay more.
Of course it stinks, and they try and justify it by saying there will be more jobs in the community, but most of them turn out to be very low paying menial jobs with little or no future advancement.
