NoPoliticoClappo-

good post. good thoughts.

thanks to early voting by mail, i already voted
for dean a couple of weeks ago. my favorite was
carol. she was on the ballot and i could have
voted for her... (the perils of early voting)
she's already dropped out of the race.

also, this was before dean's iowa concession screech <VBG>

i did not like it sam-i-am
i don't like screamers, thank you mam.

but it didn't scare me and i don't act from fear anyway.
dean is not my ideal choice, but he's been a blessing
to the democrats this year - he's the only one willing
to sacrifice his political ambitions by speaking the
truth. he is the sole reason that the other candidates
have been able to challenge bush. it was painful to
watch all the sitting democrats afraid to speak out...
the biggest disappointment for me was to watch your
senator clinton put a wet finger up into the wind and
follow bush into iraq.

i know politics. i know you lose your political power
if you jump outside the "good ol' boy network".

the tiptoe dance... where you keep on the good side of
the washington power structure while subtly slipping in
progressive thought and legislation was something the
clintons were masterful at doing. more progress was made
for progressive causes during the clinton administration
than in ANY previous administration.

BUT howard dean has crossed that line. it's killing his
chances, but it's moving us closer to the day that
citizens, instead of political wheeler-dealers, will
control their own destiny... that will be the day that
will live in the history books as the birth of democratic
freedom.

and it's not howard that's behind this movement, it's
the people involved in his campaign. it's the
internet that makes it so easy for this movement to
be involved and to show their strength and their
frustration for being left out of the process by
everyone else except howard.

it's exactly that movement and that "people power" that
i'm supporting with everything i've got.

there's no ONE person that is nearly as smart or as
capable as all of us thinking together... and it's
vitally important that we see that reality. it's
important that we support ourselves and the NETWORK,
the people's dreams... and NOT a single figurehead for
president.

howard dean is the only one who has admitted that if
we vote for him, we're not voting for HIM we're voting
for a new way of governance that IS the voice of the
people.

he may not win. WE may not win. but because of his
commitment to that goal, the birth of democratic
freedom is one step closer to being a reality. if
it doesn't come now... at least we will have had a
taste of the fruit... we will be one step closer
and one day we will prevail in government by the
people.

i'll certainly support "anyone but bush" and i
hope the democrats nominate "anyone but bush".

at the same time, i hope that nominee will look at
the NETWORK... understand it's power... and nurture it.
