that Phyllis Schafly comment reminds me of a congressperson I saw on Lou Dobbs one night (don't remember who- or party affiliation unfortunately). She said, "the US needs to decide if we want to be a country, or a market". I can't agree more. There are literally millions of jobs in this economy which were never subject to this "lowest cost producer/offshoring" mentality until recently. Of couse having an economy that functions essentially as an outsourcing broker is hardly a way to ensure your future prosperity. Duh.

This issue alone will cause him to lose upcoming election.

I doubt it. The Hispanic vote in Florida, Texas and California is huge and along with it the electoral college votes. Just the numbers game is what Bush is going to play. No policy, no plan to improve the state of the nation etc. Just pure numbers game.

Bush needs to be attacked in a dignified manner during the debate. And it would take very little to grab those independents over to the Dems. And we need someone who can stand face to face with Bush and tell him "Mr. President, I gave you a chance. I voted to give you power to go to war, if you thought it necessary to do so. You goofed. So you need to go." And that would attract the attention of the independents.
