China-pimping,

Last night, I had dinner with a friend of mine, whose company contracts manufacturing to China - Guangdong province. He explained it to me like this :

- The Chinese counterpart is a partner in the US business, not a subcontractor.
- The chinese partner typically pays the staff the following :
- about $0.50 per hour in wages
- 4 meals a day
- uniforms to wear at work
- laundering of all their clothes
- transportation to and from work
- weekly bus trips to the nearest "big city" for recreation.
- a doctors attention (healthcare) whenever needed.

You add up all this, aint a bad scenario.
