Particularly as they have no professional job opportunities to which to aspire.

Bush's Marecane dream is a nightmare for youngsters. Why go to college?

Do you think so?
I remember those weird nuke drills, where we hugged our knees under our desks. As far as I know there aren't "terrorist drills". The police and fire people train for those things, but the kids at school just have general emergency drills- that are for fire/earthquake/general disaster. I don't think the threat is as ...tangible...to our kids as the nuclear threat was. That may in part be because so many of us were traumatized by the nuclear threat, that we've tried to make the world a little less hysterical for our own kids. That's JMO.
