Cheney won -- Bush screwed the UN just the way Cheney wanted it screwed.

What a marooonnn!!! Your hatred of Bush and Cheney has completely clouded your ability to analyze objectively..

Cheney lost. Just look at the controversy that has arisen because Bush decided to go to the UN. If your theory (let alone the article) is true, then Cheney clearly didn't expect that Chirac could effectively block his agenda in the UN and leave his president politically exposed to criticism as a "unilateralist".

And now we see Cheney coming out from "hiding" and putting himself back in the spotlight, especially overseas. Cheney is meeting with the pope today..

Btw, did you fail to note this:

According to Mr Stephens, the prime minister came to the view that Mr Chirac wanted to see him fall from power after receiving intelligence reports about the French president's private conversations.

So Chirac was seeking regime change in Great Britain, was he?

And he wants to be Numero Uno in the EU??

Fat chance now...
