BushCo is the president. If we had spent ourselves into the largest deficit ever under Clinton in 3 years I would say the pork was Clintonland.

The U.S. government racked up a record $374 billion budget deficit in fiscal 2003 and is on track to post another record deficit in fiscal 2004. The White House has projected the fiscal 2004 deficit could top $500 billion, or about 4.5% of gross domestic product.

Record budget deficits are not surprising in light of the 2001 recession, the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the Iraq war, Snow said.
