now there is little potable water or dependable electricity or security.

What I never like is that the media has a dearth of correspndents over there. I remember constant images of Vietnam on television. Now you are lucky to get a live report once a week on the major networks. I can't discern the truth of what is really happening over there anymore. :P

still standing,
Sen McCain said it's impossible to initially establish in Iraq a "flawless" democracy but the seeds must be firmly sown before withdrawal of U.S. troops. My opinion is that Democrats are less likely to remain committed to that end if they win White House. They'll assume it's a mandate to immediately pullout. My concern is that waiting 4 more yrs to replace staunch conservatives(better at defense) with Dems(better at domestic programs) might cause such destruction of American middle class that we will no longer be capable of effective governmental change. The upcoming national debate on that issue is necessary & should be enlightening.

When Winston Churchill save Great Britain and won the WWII for them, they voted him out during the elections. The feeling then was, a person who wins a war can never win peace.

You think that could apply to Bush
