Actually, you are wrong. See this weeks Time magazine for the information regarding offshoring starting in 1972. that "started in 72" argument is often used. Let me tell you why it doesn't fly- because the real issue with globalization is the emergence of India and China, especially China which has sort of pulled India up. As long as China was essentially a communist country, globalization was 1/10 the problem vs. today. So really, to say that this issue of offshoring started in 72 is disingenous and just another way the Bush people try to explain away the Bush inadequacies. Oh, I see. You are not looking down the road far enough Lizzie. You need to learn more about labor costs and profitability and why owners take risks. Sorry, I do not feel you are credible but instead someone who has memorized a few soundbites... You do not know all about it. You are only looking at one area and not the whole. Listen, there are more workers doing the same jobs than before so lay off the "not needed" part. If you don't understand the phenomenon of offshoring and you get into a discussion with ME, somebody who knows all about it, try to keep your head above water and lay off the Bush FUD. Workers ARE needed, and they are being added, EN MASSE - in India. There are no productivity gains anymore, NONE, if you look at real employees. The whole issue is not even US competitiveness, it is US COST of labor.
