Indeed, you provided a painfully real description of what it was like then. And, yes, these similarities are inherent today. The psychology of being a sitting duck--which is what our soldiers are in Iraq--is a most unraveling experience. The new stories will soon be in our own communities and American bar rooms will soon be filled with them.

On the public record it is claimed that kerry did "make up atrocities" in Vietnam. I have not denied atrocities happened. But a man of honor does not have to make it up.
