Duke,

The may be parallels in PAE under 32 bit CPU, PAE under 64 bit CPU, but the real breakthrough flat address space, which for 32 bit CPUs was WinNT / Win95, and for 64 bit CPUs it will be AMD64. Itanium world is a little different in this regard.

Duke: Don't forget QuarterDesk 'DeskView' and the multiple virtual desktops, which made very good use of the 386. That product was 32 bit capable in 1987.
