Thanks DizzyG. I followed your url and read the whole thing. From my reading and my experience, as well as what I was told by grunts that worked in the Delta and around villages, and by door gunners, Kerrry was pretty accurate.

The things he said were happening were, in fact, happening, and they were much worse than he indicated. In addition they were rumored to be widespread and, with rare exceptions, I never knew of anyone being punished. The My Lai massacre is a good example; only Calley was punished and he was imprisoned for only a short time. Not much of a sentence for shooting down helpless women and children in cold blood.

It seems that Watson, once again, is wrong and shrilly distorting the facts as well. Where does he get his "news" and why does he believe such exaggerated versions of the facts?
