Not being a Nuke expert, I am not sure. However, I think going from ore to U-235 by centrifuge is very difficult.

I was under the impression that was what Iran and North Korea were up to. Russia was pretty adamant about the Bushehr plutonium being returned to Russia, which the Iranians didn't like. Then all of a sudden we discover they're improving their uranium mining infrastructure and have hundreds of cyclotrons. Yikes!

The moral pressure to do so world wide would be enormous.

I agree that there probably wouldn't be much of a problem getting responsible nuclear nations to get rid of or lock up their arsenals. But it isn't the responsible ones I'm worried about. That's why I think we need to clean up the "rogue states". Too dangerous.
