"I have no idea if Kerry would be tough, or would be a Hamlet......."

Yup, i know. But as a candidate one is constrained by ones base. As a president, who knows. It is a big bet to vote for any dem imo. I am encouraged that he is a senator. I do remember a time when admin and leg worked together. Bush and this congress hasnt. There is something that goes awry when one party rules both. A republican congress and a former dem senator as president may just product good policy. And from the day he is sworn in, kerry will be looking at reelection and consensus govt to an extent and positioning as a moderate works wonders.
Now of course what about the war on terror, homeland defense, patriot act, tax cuts etc. Bush needs to take this challenge seriously. I think a case can me made that some red states are more vulnerabe that blue states. Bush has added votes nationally but might be losing some in critical areas that could tip the election. How about kerry losing national vote and winning electoral college. Dems of course will forfeit his victory based on principle if this happens. <GG>
