Well it certainly is one way to deal with the problem. (g)

To be serious, it astounds me that the US refuses to deal with its burgeoning global economic problems. I know you are among those who have long since recognized and catalogued some of the continuing insanity, and I also know that you and most on this thread clearly see where current US economic policies are taking us. The item I brought up just underlines the fact that the US is running out of time ..... and resources,.... with which to battle these problems.

By the way, even a quick perusal of current annual US military expenditures has got to cause more thoughtful citizens to worry as to how much longer this can go on. Indeed one can easily come to the conclusion that the USSR will not be the last modern state to be bankrupted by its military costs. No matter how one analyzes these numbers one cannot help but label them "unsustainable" and as the Russian learned to their sorrow, fast attack subs and super modern fighters are worthless when you can't afford to fuel or maintain them.

Best, Earlie
