The world is changing at the fastest pace recorded in human history. Not even greatest wars were able to change the dynamics of global economics with such consequences impossible to predict. Sooner rather than later American people will start saving and getting out of debt one or the another way. I cannot imagine countries of the world will be in any way interested to support dollar as the #1 currency, having priced everything in the world trade in green paper which is already bankrupt. I wish to find one economist of this world who can present the way US will somehow manage to pay off their debts excluding Weimar way.
Status quo will remain for a while yet, but the whole fiat system reminds me of the engines which needs more and more oil to keep it running leaving big cloud of smoke behind to cover up the model and country of origin hidden. There will be no alternative but replace all engines to stop pollution. I don't blame any individual model as all of them can compare to the convicts on the death row who still have few appeals left, but unfortunately they were convicted in the state of Texas.
