5 Dead, 30 Wounded in Jerusalem Bus Bombing

Thursday, January 29, 2004

JERUSALEM, Israel — An explosion went off Thursday on a bus in Jerusalem, near Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's official residence. Witnesses and paramedics said at least five people were killed and 30 were wounded.

The blast went off on Gaza Street in downtown Jerusalem, about 100 yards from Sharon's residence. The explosion turned the bus into a twisted wreck. Glass was shattered everywhere and the roof was blown off.

Emergency workers tended to the wounded. Several bodies were lying on the ground.

we should quit expecting other countries to accept "second order" benefits with gratitude for our largesse in lieu of deciding their interests for themselves.

We should quit expecting other countries to agree with us and demanding that our Government not pursue a course of action just because they won't, also.
