it is that the Bush admin only listens to its own narrow circle of supporters, and thus engages in acts that aren't really conducive to well thought out actions.

Is Tony Blair chopped liver? Was it Bush's own idea, do you think, to waste 14 months in the UN? I distinctly remember Cheney arguing against it.

I swear, the arguments about Bush have departed from reality, the stereotypes are so firmly fixed. Yes, Bush has his own advisors, though even they hardly agree. Sometimes Bush listens to Defense, sometimes to State. But he has acted far from unilaterally.

This is like listening to Democrats talking about getting back into the White House, so we can have an administration with diversity again, as I heard some do the other day. Not a single acknowledgement that Sec of State and Nat Security Advisor are the highest offices ever held by people of color in the US. Bush can't be for diversity because he's Bush.

Fill in the blank: international cooperation, the environment, whatever. It no longer matters what Bush actually does.

Krauthammer was right. It's Bush Derangement Syndrome.
