Well, I suppose there's nothing better to go on than track record speaks for itself. Twice Iraq confronted the militarily superior US, and twice Iraq opted not to use WMD agents. This ought to be telling. The rest of the world understands this, but a few here in the US, only those who support Bush, do not.

In the past, Iraq used WMD agents when he confronting Iranians or Iran-supporting Kurds. The US didn't mind this a bit. In fact, the US assisted Saddam's capability to go against the Iranians and the US position in the United Nations then was supportive of Iraq. Like the France, Germany, Russia and China today the US, then, blocked any substantive condemnation of Iraq in the UN.

So now, when it becomes politically convenient for the Bush Administration what was of little to no concern then has become a big concern today. But, again, the track record speaks for itself: Iraq choose twice not to use the agents you're concerned about.
