GOPwinger pressures have vile effects on DEMside administrations. One would have thought Clinton could have cured the Cuban debacle as well as problems with Iraq. But Clinton, a non-military guy, had to prove something on issues of defense, or risk a full frontal assault by GOPwingers. Wanting to shed the image of DEMs being soft on defense, Clinton got nowhere solving issues involving Saddam or Fidel. This is but one example of how Clinton cowtowed to the GOPwingers.
