I saw that interview. Truth if very tough for an Administration that fails to admit it. I look forward to hearing what Tenet has to say when the Bush-induced smoke clears a bit.

>>> A prior CIA director ?Stansfield Turner? was on the tube the other day. He made the interesting observation that in Oct. of 2002 there was a dramatic change in the intelligence assessments regarding Iraqi wmd capabilities. According to him, before October the intelligence wisdom was that it was "possible" that Iraq had some wmd capacities. That changed to "probable" and, according to him, the administration presented that assessment by claiming it was "certain."<<<

Any GOPwingers care to hazard a guess as to why this happened?

It really does amaze me that if I--me, mere PartyTime on SI--knew that Iraq posed no threat, that it had no stockpiles of WMD, why couldn't Bush--whose father was both a president and former CIA director--not know also this?

Truth of the matter is, Bush knew!

And for Bush and Kay to blame it all on bad intelligence flies in the face of the truth of the actions of those who resigned in protest at the US State Department and those former CIA veterans who complained that the Administration was cooking the books; the Australian intelligence officer who resigned in similar protest; and the three British cabinet ministers who resigned in protest.

Why did this happen?
