You have to be kidding. Are you that deluded? Reagan gave us the biggest debt in history until GW swamped him. The excuse was the build-up caused the Soviets to crack. Maybe but the debts were huge and it took the entire Bush term plus half of CLinton's to start paying the debt off. From late the Reagan's last term until early in Clinton's it was one big sluggish recession. That was directly related to Reagan's under-taxing and over-spending, including the S+L debacle which his people gave us. The Contra War was a hoax. We never forced elections there. We murdered a lot of innocent people because Reaganites exaggerated the threat of a ragtag bunch of Sandinistas. Worse, they deceived congress, traded arms with Iran and ran back money budgets through Swiss bank accounts, then lied to congress. Half the Reagan administration was indicted. Many were pardoned as Reagan and Bush left office. The charges were side and the graft was real. This was not a nice bunch of people at all. Bush Sr. only survived by lying to clain he was out of the loop on Iran-Contra. In fact he was very much in the loop and everyone knows it. I know right-wingers admire Reagan and personally he was admirable, but his policies and people were often as devious as we've ever gotten in this country. However, Cheney may be topping them now. I have a suspicion that it was Cheney who outed CIA agent Wilson and was behind the phony energy crisis. I also believe his people are stealing Iraqi oil because we sure haven't seen any of it.
