Ted, Why couldn't Bush wait two months?

In two months the conclusion would have been the same, but the weather in Iraq would have been unbearable for our troops. Saddam would have still been non-compliant, and Blix's findings would have still been inconclusive because of it.

You think waiting two months was a steeper price to pay than all the killing, maiming and billions spent to date? A president is supposed to be a thoughtful, responsible leader that puts the nation's best interests in the forefront. That's not what Bush has done.

Inspections were a charade, and those who kept believing in them were deluding themselves.

The only one deluding himself is you believing that Bush is worthy of your support.

Ten,

re: Inspections were a charade, and those who kept believing in them were deluding themselves.

True enough. When you send 100's of inspectors looking for something that doesn't exist, that could be called a charade.

The reason the inspectors failed is that there was nothing to inspect.

The bottom line is that SH was a paper tiger, unlike many other countries that do have dangerous mass weapons. And the war took our attention and resources away from the real battle, maybe 50,000 terrorists that are actually dangerous to us. The reason Iraq was done was economic and political, and it was planned by the neo's long before 9/11. 9/11 was just the enabler, nobody would have bought into an Iraq war before 9/11, afterwards, they would buy into anything.
