Johnson was descended from people from southern Scotland and Kennedy was as everyone knows descended from Irish people. Not much love between those two groups. Apparently, LBJ used to be called "boy" by Kennedy and he(LBJ) was heard to say that he wouldn't be called that much longer a couple of days before JFK was shot. No proof of anything, but enough to raise suspicion, IMO.

LOL! For that matter, so would JFK!

BTW, as all those old Dixiecrats became Republican, it seems they became better men. Now, there is a net migration of African Americans to the South (from other regions of the country). Residential Segregation is generally less in the South than Midwest or Northeast (In the west, "Republican" metros tend to be less segregated than "Democratic" metro areas). And the disparity of income between Black and White households is narrowing faster in the South than any other region of the country (black household income was already higher in the South than the Midwest - 10 years ago).
