Also my scenario wasn't one where you use nukes until you get a surrender but instead one where you simply decide to wipe Japan (and Germany) off the map in one attack. It was made in response to "if I were the PM of Israel, I would seriously consider just killing every Palestinian in Israel"

Although I imagine if the Palestinians did surrender you might stop so you have something of a point.

Still as I said in my later post I'm not sure its a good practical idea and I am definitely against when you also think about moral considerations.

WWII was pretty much a total war situation not an insurrection or a case of terrorist attacks. Even in WWII the only reason why I think the atom bombs are justified is that they probably saved lives. I don't think the same would be the case of an Israel attempt to commit genocide against the Palestinians.
