8.5% in Texas. Very high considering the fact it's supposed to be a GOP conservative small government state. They're running a ten billion dollar deficit now they don't know what to do with. The public schools and health care system stink despite Bush's BS claims and all the good ole boys who run things like to fleece the system. Zero pollution controls and every so often Houston smells like a toxic waste site.
