One of the stories I like to tell is about my beloved Max-The-Cat, whom I once observed sitting on the stove while a lovely beef stew simmered away. He kept trying to hook a piece of beef out of the stew, but had to keep pulling back his paw because of the heat.

And I had a kind of epiphany then, and thought to myself, "he wants the beef without the hot."

As do we all, of course. We all want the beef without the hot.
