David Kay Didn't Call Bush a Liar." Posted by the ChronWatch Founder, Jim Sparkman Friday, January 30, 2004 What's the really important issue concerning our failure to find WMD in Iraq? We know Saddam had them at one point in time. Where are they now? Is that the main thing we should focus on now? Or, how could our intelligence apparatus be so wrong? For that matter, how could all the intelligence forces in the world be so wrong? Is that the big issue of the moment? Well, according to the San Francisco Chronicle and the Democrats, none of that is important. Note this article by the Chron's Carolyn [B]Lochhead on David Kay's testimony. Former top U.S. weapons inspector David Kay told a Senate committee Wednesday that the intelligence community had been wrong about Iraq's possession of weapons of mass destruction and that now it was vital to find out how such a failure could occur. ''It turns out we were all wrong, and that is most disturbing,'' Kay said, including himself along with U.S. intelligence agencies, as well as those of France and Germany, which opposed the war. But the testimony of Kay, who resigned last week as head of the Iraq Survey Group after nearly seven months of leading an intense, 1,400-agent investigation, did not provide Democrats with the fodder they sought to accuse the Bush administration of exaggerating the weapons' evidence or pressuring intelligence agents to come up with a justification to invade Iraq. You see, what is so disappointing about all this to the liberals (and that includes the Chron) is that the Kay testimony did not implicate President Bush in the famous Teddy Kennedy line that Bush ''made it all up in Crawford, Texas.'' To the Democrats, who cares about anything else? The rest is just yesterday's news. Now the Dems will have to look elsewhere. They got all excited about David Kay, but he disappointed them. Dems, don't forget your prioroties. Just keep repeating, ''We hate Bush with all our heart and soul. Nothing else matters. We live on our hatred.''chronwatch.com
