Thanks. Germans haven't become saints since WW II but to me it seems very unlikely that the Iraq position of the German government was induced by bribery. "Normal" economic reasons aren't likely as well. 2002 exports to Iraq were 403.8 million euro, that's < 0.1% of total exports of 648305.6 million euro. Imports were a mere 5.7 million euro, there have been higher imports from countries like Grenada, Botswana, Gabon.
