redfish,
Don't write Dean off just yet. Positive effects of new campaign chair have become evident. He was guest on Chris Matthews show immediately following last night's SC debate. That's the type of opp the original guy missed. Dean presents himself really well when given the chance on national TV, especially when he speaks re health coverage--a major concern for many voters.

I was amused with Chris Matthew's program format while he spoke to Dr Dean--pertinent facts scrolled beneath the candidate like "began campaign in Jun 2003" then "Mrs Dean is a physician as well" then "Dean's wife makes house calls". That last one broke me up....hope it caught voters attention.

The candidate's former campaign chair is appearing on major news programs with positive comments about Dean. So, evidently his "new capacity" will help further the campaign as well & the circumstances surrounding the staff shakeup provided even more media exposure--which can make all the difference. Especially when Kerry's face has been shown with nauseating frequency past few days:)

As far as Kerry's anti-war activity, I wasn't aware how extreme it was until someone quoted his testimony in Congress re "American soldiers cutting off heads & limbs". Evidently he was relating a story another vet told him BUT as the journalist remarked--since Kerry did not know if the atrocity had indeed happened, Kerry should not have repeated it publicly in that forum. It was proven afterwards that particular incident never occurred. My Lai was the only one verified(no matter how much former war protesters disagree). When the Bush campaign gets it's hands on that testimony, it's doubtful there will be many vets still supporting Kerry.
