In 1999 during their phony energy crisis, Bush and Cheney used their own cronies' crimes to try and scare Americans, promising us their expertise in the oil biz made them qualified to fix things. People actually bought it. That issue alone made the difference in a close election. They not only lied, they were helping with the gouging, and it continues to ths day. Highest energy prices of our lives under Bush-Cheney and they do have the clout to lower those prices.
