But just remember, the more the country goes to the right the farther left it seems I am. I love America. I love freedom. I love opportunity. It's just that I have a bit of a problem when so few get to enjoy the freedom and the opportunity; I have a problem when America's greatest strength, its middle class, begins losing its foundation; and I have a problem when poverty, more than not, appears like a kept condition instead of a hopeful condition. Indeed, I have a problem when profits get put before people. Indeed, I have a problem when America's jobs--so important to maintaining a strong middle class, so important toward the very ideal of an American Dream--get moved into overseas markets to take advantage of the cheapest labor possible. Indeed, I have a problem when America refuses to stand for global workers rights. Indeed, I have a problem when bankruptcies are near certain to hit record levels whevever Republicans gain control of the White House. Really though, Dizzy, I love it and say right on to folks smart enough to invent the hoola-hoop, the pet rock--hey, I'm a rubics cube kinda guy! Yes, I love it and say right on to the 'small fry' whose doing business!!! And I love and say right on when a strong American corporation gets formed from out of this, but I love it even more when it stays American; and I love it even more when it can trade with other nations. I even love to play and watch baseball and play and watch hockey. And, like everyone, I'll be tuned in to tomorrow with my bet for The Patriots! But I'm also betting for the real American Patriots, not false ones who'll cloak themselves in prejudice and an anything for a buck mentality. Yes, 'm so far to the left I still dream back to the day when I kept my baseball glove tied to my belt loop, ever wanting in on the next game--lol! It's too bad America isn't strong enough in its freedom so as to be enable a ballgame or few with Cuban teams, in an event other than the Olympics. I'm so far to the left that I think Bush was a better baseball man than he is a president! Bottom line is Republicans will give us an oil change, Democrats will give us a tune-up; Libertarians will give us free air for the tires--but what's fundamentally needed in America is an engine overhaul! What's wrong with believing like this? It's at least keeping an eye to the future and not getting bogged down in the past. I think of America as a true leader among other nations, not a bullyish one. And the funny thing is I'm not really a radical. Right now, the radicals are in the White House.
