We were not attacked, but our allies were, which amounts to the same thing. The Korean war was begun by the North Koreans attacking South Korea, not by Truman declaring a preemptive war. And it was Iraq that started the Gulf War I by invading Kuwait, not the US declaring a preemptive war.

Sorry for the history lesson, but you just don't seem to get the point. Bush started an optional war.
