Hi twfowler; Re: "Truman and Bush I ordered America's forces in to battle when the US wasn't attacked." We were not attacked, but our allies were, which amounts to the same thing. The Korean war was begun by the North Koreans attacking South Korea, not by Truman declaring a preemptive war. And it was Iraq that started the Gulf War I by invading Kuwait, not the US declaring a preemptive war. Sorry for the history lesson, but you just don't seem to get the point. Bush started an optional war. -- Carl
