Nadine, perhaps people don't want to trade in relative freedom for a bigger and more suffocating bureaucratic nanny-state. Bigger isn't always better [compare Switzerland and India for example]. I realize that. Being a nation-state serf is no doubt better than being a super-state serf where individual identity and regional interests are even further trivialized. Meanwhile, Kasparov and Russia's Liberals have declared open season on Putin's ideas of how to run a railroad. And King George II says his WMD reason for a PNAC pre-emptive attack on Saddam's Iraq has gone missing and wants to know how come he got the wrong information.
