Nadine, perhaps people don't want to trade in relative freedom for a bigger and more suffocating bureaucratic nanny-state. Bigger isn't always better [compare Switzerland and India for example]. I realize that.

Being a nation-state serf is no doubt better than being a super-state serf where individual identity and regional interests are even further trivialized.

Meanwhile, Kasparov and Russia's Liberals have declared open season on Putin's ideas of how to run a railroad.

And King George II says his WMD reason for a PNAC pre-emptive attack on Saddam's Iraq has gone missing and wants to know how come he got the wrong information. He's like the little boy who cried wolf. Next time he cries wolf, he'll get even less attention from the rest of the world.
