Kerry never sells himself to lobbyists or anyone else.
The very guy named in this story, Farmer, told me that he had recently been approached by very rich man (this was right before the campaign finance reform came in so no limit on contributions) and he handed him a $200,000 check for Kerry. A lot of money. The fat cat insinuated that he'd love to be in public life (hint hint, an ambassadorship). Farmer handed him back the check and said "sorry". Bottomline, Kerry won't sell out to anyone. He doesn't need to. he has plenty of people willing to contributie with no strings attached and that shall continue. Besaides he's too smart to risk such a trap.
