Kerry has Dubya beat: poll

nydailynews.com

<<...Fresh polls indicated yesterday that Sen. John Kerry was close to sweeping next week's primaries and also would be a formidable opponent for President Bush.

The survey by the American Research Group gave Kerry a one-point edge in a head-to-head matchup against Bush, beating him 47% to 46%, which is really a statistical tie.

The ARG had other numbers that were bad news for the Bush camp. It pegged his job approval rating at an all-time low of 47%. Equally disturbing for Bush was that his job disapproval rating, also at 47%, was alarmingly high...>>

To begin with, let me apologize for the delay in replying. I've been working with a balky computer configuration, and other than one "test" post yesterday have been offline. After you made two posts (One regarding Kerry's fundraising, and one that stemmed from Dr. Kay's statements wrt the validity of intelligence), I responded to the second one, and asked if you supported the call for an independent investigation made by both Kay and McCain? Your response was all about Kerry, and didn't deal with the call for an independent investigation of "what went wrong" with the intelligence. So let's take these two matters one at a time.

First, Kerry. If you will note, I had posted the very same Washington Post article on Kerry that you posted redundantly. ( Message 19754028 ). I assume that we agree that the system is broke, and that radical change in the current political system is required. The corrosively corrupting influence of money from wealthy special interests, see that their agenda takes precedence over the common good of the American public. The current system precludes many people of good will from getting involved in the "slimy business" of politics, and prevents anyone who does from being competitive with the "slime balls" unless they get down into the muck with the “influence peddlers”.

Secondly, there is that matter of the call for an independent commission to investigate "what went wrong" with the pre-war Iraqi intelligence. If you agree we need to know the truth in this matter, then we are in complete agreement.
