You may be one of those "paranoid crazies" who owns guns and writes letters to his local newspaper. You're going to look mighty dead if you are unprepared for the 1/100 chance in any given year of being a victim of a brutally violent crime. Being prepared for the 1/100 falls far short of something to be paranoid about. Its about the same rate of being an automobile fatality...and you do wear your seatbelt everyday...or are people who wear seatbelts...paranoid crazies.
