According to a story in the Chicago Tribune, the Defense Department is planning a spring offensive to capture or kill Osama bin Laden. Hey! I remember that name from somewhere! But Dave, you say, haven't we been actively hunting for him since 2001? What's the big deal? The big deal is that somebody in the government leaked a story implying that THIS time, in addition to hunting him, we plan to GET him. And one reason we're so confident of getting him, according to the officials who leaked the story, is that with Saddam in the cooler, it frees up a whole lot of soldiers ... to look for the guy who actually attacked us. The big debate NOW is between the State Department, which wants to confine the hunt to Afghanistan -- and the Pentagon, which wants permission to go hunting across the border in Pakistan, apparently because that's where Osama actually is. The problem there is that the government of Pakistan has said absolutely NOT. But to the government of Pakistan, I just say this. Osama bin Laden has a unique standing in America. He is the one weapon of mass destruction that EVERYONE agrees on here. And I don't think I need to remind you of the ground rules when it comes to weapons of mass destruction -- especially ground rule number one, which is, we make the ground rules. You don't really HAVE to have Osama for us to bomb you. We just have to THINK you have Osama for us to bomb you. And if we bomb you and it turns out you NEVER had Osama, that's YOUR problem. So I would suggest that you cough him up right now, whether you have him or not. CC

Powell would significantly hurt Bush if he were the VP candidate. The Pro-Americans have rejected him for yeras because he is untrustworthy. It helps to remember WHY he never chose to run for president-he knew he'd be a sure loser. Cheney is under attack by the domestic enemy because they have absolutely NO WAY to attack Bush himself, who has already established himself as not only one of history's greatest presidents, but is following one of the absolute WORST in history. Cheney is simply filling a traditional VP roll: He taking the enemy's heat so the principle can take advantage of his own positive image. Were it not for Cheney's health, HE could easily beat any of the anti-American Dwarfs as a presidentail candidate. The left wing propaganda campaign and lies against Cheney have kept him in the spotlight, and made him a hero to the 80% of the public that is chafing at the bit to PURGE the anti-American Democrat enemy in November...

I expect that OBL will be accounted for soon-either by the production of all or part of a corpse, or by another deep-in-the-hole sand rat acquisition like we saw with his ally Saddam. It is because of this desperate propaganda by the anti-American media that this accounting will be an overwhelming story for a few days when it happens. And the anti-American Dem's sacrificial lamb-if he is established by then-may make the mistake, that killed Dean, of saying "we are no safer" with Patti's buddy taken down. Ironically, the winning Dwarf will have a valid point: We will only be truly safer after we Americans have met that Dwarf and his entire fatally-flawed party in November, and done our duty by taking HIM and IT down. The terror alert can definitely be lowered a notch or two after the PURGE of the anti-American Democrats this November. Then Plowboy Tom Ridge can be sent home, to figure out how Philadelphia "turns out" 100% of their voters...
