It's a conundrum wrapped in an enigma.

First, I believe Dean campaign peaked too early--like Jun 2003. The media lined him up in their sights & all candidates usually stumble in that spotlight. Every word he uttered was disected. Problem was at that time the media was paying little attention to Kerry. The latter is now getting same scrutiny & we'll soon see the outcome.

It looks to me as though Dems are hoping Kerry's war record will make GW look pale in comparison. Although, didn't we go through that same scenario with Al Gore to no avail?

Biggest obstacle for Dems to overcome is the fact most voters worry whether or not they could handle the War on Terror. Maybe Osama will be captured in mean time & that will become a non-issue. Although I believe Cheney would keep OBL in wraps until day before Election 2004 in order to get re-elected.

Dean will appear on Tim Russert's show this wkend. Maybe that will cause a surge in support for him.
