when economic activity slows so that some outfits HAVE to be liquidated -- I mean lesser players -- junk defaults go up -- what are folks going to buy as they sell for pennies on the dollar??

Lets suppose the worst about housing -- defaults get so high -- that some kind of special government monkey business inserts the government into terms to support the debt -- what will folks be buying, then??

I see lots of sources of demand for treasuries in the future -- unless we get an outright currency collapse.
