Kerry is a liberal like JFK was a liberal. He's a tough moderate-liberal who's no bleeding heart and not anti-business or socialistic. He gets along great with guys like McCain and has a very real kinship with anyone in uniform.
Most liberals don't.

In fact, he has more in common with McCain than he does Dean. At some of the fundraisers I've been to quite a few Republicans showed up. They were friends of John. His wife was a Republican until last year when the GOP started attacking her. John is just as comfortable with Repubs and Dems. He loves talking to people and is a good listener. He sees both sides of the argument. So long as you're smart and making sense he'll really be curious about what you are saying. What I'm saying is he never seems self-centered.

Bush-Cheney is a perfect bunch for Kerry to run against. More than anything, Kerry dislikes polluters and chickenhawks, and Bush-cheney have given the polluters almost everything they wanted over the past three years, in exchange for fat contributions of course. Kerry also knew Bush from Yale and knows he was a pussy then and is a pussy now. He is not in the leasat bit afraid of Bush.

Kerry is a righteous man. He didn't dodge the war, become an alcoholic, do cocaine, get a girlfriend aborted, then use daddy to fail his way upward and make money by insider trading the way GW did. He also has never sold a vote and certainly never takes money in exchange for pollution, corporate welfare and kickbacks.

Kerry doesn't lie. He's very honest. He really cares about people. He means what he says and says what he means. He may not be a devout Christian but so what? Most people aren't. He's also not a phony hypocrite. All in all he's a very ethical guy. He will never lie to us or cheat to win. He's a straight-shooter.
