Yes it was. And still is. If Kerry does get the nomination, he will be "filled up" over the next 8 months. I see that the Dems seem to believe they can go back and use Bush's National Guard Service against him. I doubt it. The story is out there, and the makeup of time in Texas looks like it will hold. TWT. Kerry's "professional veteran" time will really be gone into. He had a lot of non-veteran hippy people in his organization. I expect the right to "Fonda" him.

Bush has been through the fire, and everything is known. Kerry now has to survive it. I think the personal item that will be interesting is the ability to debate. Gore was known as a champion debater, so was Governor Richardson. The media consensus is that Bush beat them both.

It's obvious that Bush is going to run a very "get out the vote" campaign. Big appeal will be to the base.
