He comes across as dry, rough and "confrontational". he is totally out of touch with the sentiments of all those Democratic party members who are hurting because they have no jobs and are seriously looking for someone who wants to get Bush out of the White House.<< On both those counts, it's a matter of personal impressions. I see Dean's feisty spirit as the much needed edge to combat Bush's silver-spoon audacity. It's interesting that you used the word "dry" since my impression of Kerry is dull plus dry. ************************************ >>I saw his press conference the day after his scream speech. Somebody asked him that if he was delivering a speech that a victor would have delivered. Let us put aside the scream factor for a moment. Let us ask ourselves if he should have made the speech in that manner.<< Anyone who has ever worked hard for their candidate in a political campaign knows the disappointment the candidate feels when they perceive that the results let down their troops. Dean was bolstering his workers...giving a rallying cry to not be discouraged, carry on with him and fight in NM, OKLA, AR, etc. The media used the clip out of context but in the end gave Dean more national exposure than was possible if he pursued traditional campaign trail alone. 20somethings who rarely pay attention to politics, can now identify Dean & his scream. In fact, they found his 'rebel yell' to be exhilarating. The more I see Kerry's hang-dog expression & out-right lifting of Dean's talking points, the more my 1st impression of him as 'bland' is reinforced. Far too many Dems are just jumping on the momentum train set in motion by the national media for Kerry. Dem voters need to step back & listen more closely to Dean. He has the sincerity & message needed to beat Bush.
