Belief in creation science seems to be largely a U.S. phenomenon.

It probably is. Takes a lot of money to fund it. Did you see the latest bit in Georgia? The School system is trying to change the name of Evolution to "Biological changes over the ages."

But the US is a "blip" on the radar screen of Evangelicalism. It is the number one spreading Religion in the Third World. And it is spread more by locals than US Missionaries. The third world prefers it to the dryness of Catholicism and the older Protestant versions.

That may have something to do with the fact that most Christians in the UK are less than evangelical
Most Beeb reporters aren't Wahabbis either. So how come the Beeb publishes "news reports" on the Hajj that are deeply reverential to the Wahabbi orthodox line?

The useful distinction is, that the Beeb reporters feel free to act squeamish about Christians they don't agree with (and that's most of the believing ones). They don't act the same about Muslims. At all.
