We don't teach "kids" to hate their culture- that's gross overstatement. I see we have switched topics from news outlets, to the "cultural elite" and their artistic works, and NOW those poor kids being taught to hate their culture, and some bizarre connection to world competition and prison populations. Poppycock, LindyBill, poppycock.

The answer to a great deal of our prison population problem is the legalization of drugs (also a powerful tool for anti-terrorism, imo, since terror organizations utilize the lucrative drug trade to raise money).

The answer to having a competent work force is to make sure we have respect for academia, and educational pursuits. Unfortunately many segments of the US population have a greater suspicion of education and science than other populations do, due, in no small part, to fundamentalist values in the underlayment of our culture. Your anti-academe attitude is part of the problem (totally justified, in your mind, I know). Buddhists embrace all knowledge as being part of the rightness of the universe (I've put this badly, but basically, anything found by science to be "true" cannot be against Buddhism, since truth and Buddhism are one). The same cannot be said of the dominant religion in our culture.

This style of posting is just too weird for me. I do not enjoy posts where all sorts of unrelated topics are thrown in as if they had some connection and proved some point, and it would exhaust me to parse out your post, in the manner the issues you raise really deserve- and on top of that I suspect I'd merely receive another post from you that raised even more issues, unrelated to what I was posting about.

Have a good morning, and check out a decent website on logical fallacies.
