The whole issue is mindboggling. I don't blame the Dems for milking it for what it is worth. They are desperate for good issues. But what the hell was going on? Why would Saddam sacrifice himself? It just makes no sense.

Me neither. Saddam was paranoid (for good reason) and as I've pointed out before, if he thought you might be crossing or cheating him it would be your head. I wonder what Saddam's interrogators are getting out of him now, and what plans the Iraqis have for his trial. More might come out then.
