Hi DJ,

<<< 1.5B fellow humans living with a KLUDGE make me hang down my head in sorrow - how could that happen in the first place... And I thought I had a problem with my Slovenian declination and dual... >>>

Please don't make fun of me. I am not an expert on language. In fact I am not an expert on anything as you can plainly see from my writings. However, as Lyndon B Johnson was once quoted as saying, but I do know the difference between chicken salad and chicken sh*t.

I guess that is what I am trying to say here. Understand however, I am not trying to unnecesarily tear anyone down.

The best analogy I can make with respect to what I am trying to say concerning the Chinese language would be to compare it to computer languages in some simplistic way.

If COBOL is the only computer language you know, and you invested tons of money in it, and you can't afford to switch to another language, but if you are clever enough, you could extend that language forever and run it on the biggest and the most powerful computers that keeps popping up. But you are running at a disadvantage against people using more modern computer languages such as C++, Java, or what have you. Of course this is quite simplistic, but I hope you get the drift.

The Chinese however, are a clever people. Their language stems from a long time ago (I don't have a clue as to its origin). They have successfully met the challenge in the past using this language and now they ae going to meet the biggest challenge they have ever faced.

They have some tremendous hurdles to overcome - as language, IMO, is a major one.

IMO opinion again, if this is some sort of competition, we have an tremendous advantage.
