I posted an article from Wired upstream about outsourcing to India. I'll link it again, but these are the facts I found the most interesting: the head of the Indian company makes $11,000 a year, which is more than 22 times the average per capita income in India. She lives well on that money.

Maybe you should move to India and live like a king on $11,000 a year, too. Or set up a company somewhere cheaper than India and eat their lunch.

Personally, I telecommute as much as I can. I could just as easily live a hundred miles west in the mountains in a house that costs a fraction of what this one does, but my kids are still in school.
